Lesley Scott – Principal

At the tender age of just 9 years old, Lesley made her first professional stage appearance in The Johnny O’Keefe Show, followed by numerous pantomimes during her early teens including, Australian Tours of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Flinstones and Peter Pan.

Lesley then made her move onto Musicals which included My Fair Lady and Irene both in Australia and London’s West End. She was the Principal Dancer with the Australian Opera in various productions including The Merry Widow, La Boheme and Nambucco.

Shortly after appearing in the Opening Season at the Sydney Opera House, she formed an adagio act “Dance Encore” with her husband Bruce and toured Japan, South-East Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK. The act was featured in various major shows around the world including 1001 Nights – Palace Casino Hong Kong, L’Hirrondelle in London’s West End, Soir De Gala at the Wrest Point Hotel Casino, Tasmania and The Genting Highlands Hotel Casino.

Lesley and her husband Bruce then started their own professional company namely Dance Encore Productions in 1980 supplying professional entertainment to Australia, New Zealand, S.E Asia, Japan and South Korea, including the production shows Fantasy Express and Festive Follies at the Launceston Country Club Hotel Casino.

Major theatre productions of Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs followed with Lesley playing the part of the Wicked Queen!

Dance Encore was also proud to be associated with the Sydney 2000 Olympics performing daily shows on the Samsung World stage.

Through her expertise as a teacher and choreographer, Lesley has given many singers and dancers the opportunity to pursue professional careers both within Australia and overseas.

January 2004 saw the opening of the Dance Encore Performing Arts Studio in Bexley, and through the guidance of Lesley and her dedicated staff, Lesley is imparting her expertise and knowledge onto the next generation of budding singers and dancers.
